83rd Annual Oscar Winners

Well the wait is finally over. I'll admit that I'm not entirely happy with this years outcomes, but then again, it is the Oscars. I did honestly believe that The Social Network was a more deserving winner of Best Picture, but what really disappointed me was the Best Director award, which I felt all the nominees were more deserving of than the ultimate winner. 6. I enjoyed the ceremony. True, James Franco was very mellowed out but he's an artsy type guy and I have so much respect for him. I thought Anne was beautiful and funny, she carried the evening wonderfully. I will agree that 'The Social Network' was undoubtedly a more deserving film for the Best Picture win, but the Oscars tend to be very traditional. Having said that, I did love 'The King's Speech', I thought it was a brilliant movie (but I love British period pieces)with great performances... Geoffrey Rush was by far the shining star of that film... but at the same time it was a film I felt I'd seen done many times before. I was really glad that Christian Bale took home Best Supporting Actor. He got so lost in the role of Dicky in 'The Fighter' and it was just phenomenal.
